Trader Assistant
Job Description
Our trading operations are split into two teams: Execution and Engineering. The traders on the Execution team interact directly with the market; they monitor positions, seize opportunities, run algorithms, and share their discoveries with the traders on the Engineering team.
The Engineering team, which you will be joining, turn ideas into reality. They perform a variety of functions geared towards improving the operations of the firm: data analysis, automating trades, brainstorming and challenging ideas, and building tools for the Execution team. The Engineers are never satisfied with the “status quo” – to them, these tools can always be made sharper, simpler, faster, and more functional.
This is an entry-level position for either someone straight out of university or for someone with a strong interest in programming. We will train you how to use our specialized programming software.
Typical Workday
- 40% Programming & Testing: Troubleshoot and correct defects in existing trading systems and infrastructure
- 20% Brainstorming
- 15% Data Analysis & Special Projects
- 15% Routine Work (Daily email reports, data collection, setting up algorithms, etc.)
- 10% Learning, Market Observation, Shadowing Traders

- Bachelor’s Degree
- 0-3 years of work experience
